IPER: intelligent prediction of woodworking machines performance (2)

AIM

The aim of the initiative is to optimize the woodworking machines, through a pilot experiment which involves the application of Artificial Intelligence, in order to answer to the increasing market needs such as the demand for more precise, fast, flexible and sustainable machine tools. The project implies the replacement of FEA (Finite Element Analysis) with a resource-saving, data-driven (AI based) surrogate model within the early stages of the virtual product development process. This will help the companies to reduce the environmental impact of their production processes. Furthermore, the initiative aims to develop a model that in the future could be adopted in the production of machines tools utilized in other sectors.
