AIM

Project of Excellence: IT for Industry 4.0 The Italian National Agency for the Evaluation Universities and Research Institutes (ANVUR) has this year awarded the Department of Computer Science of the University of Verona, which recognises it as a Department of Excellence. The Computer Engineering for Industry 4.0 project aims to extend research the Department conducts by developing a new area of research in computer science for Industry 4.0 to help make newly emerging IT technologies for industry accessible and usable by companies. The project has three scientific-technological objectives: Safety and security, Automatic design, Diagnostics and assistance. The project has 3 main aims: hiring qualified personnel to develop this new field of research (professors and researchers), the setting up of a laboratory for Industry 4.0 (Laboratory ICE) containing a modern production line, supported by equipment for augmented reality and digital production, and connected to the university's computational platform – extended with additional nodes, all interfaced and embedded in CloudVeneto, and the setting up of a new Master's degree course to create professional figures in Computer Science engineering with specific expertise computer engineering for industry 4.0.
